My Stay At The Newsroom Suites In Wellington Ontario

If you’re searching for the perfect place to stay in Prince Edward County, let me introduce you to one of my favourite finds, the Newsroom Suites in Wellington, Ontario. From the moment I arrived, I knew this wasn’t just another hotel. It felt like a welcoming home base that perfectly combined boutique luxury with the laid-back charm.

I recently visited Prince Edward County for the first time and unfortunately I left booking a room until the last minute. I thought since I was travelling just outside of the peak summer season that I wouldn’t have any trouble finding a place to stay. I was wrong! Fortunately, I was lucky to find a room at the Newsroom Suites. To say that I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. It was absolutely perfect for what I needed and let me tell you why.

Checking In For My Stay At The Newsroom Suites

Entering the reception to get to my suite at my hotel in Prince Edward County

One of the things I loved the most about staying at Newsroom Suites was how simple and stress-free the check-in process was. Before my arrival, I received clear instructions by email, including my suite number, entry code, and everything I needed to know to access the property. The contactless self-check-in made arriving at my own pace easy, without worrying about front desk hours. This came in especially handy since I didn’t check in until after I had toured the vineyards.

Once I arrived, I simply entered my personalized access code, unlocked the door, and headed straight to my suite. The entire process took just a few minutes and was seamless from start to finish.

Driver’s Tip: My room was up a flight of stairs which would be difficult for visitors who have trouble doing the stairs. When reserving your room, make sure it’s accessible if you are unable to climb stairs.

Parking

Parking at the Newsroom Suites was convenient and hassle-free. Complimentary parking is available for guests, so I never had to worry about finding a spot or paying additional parking fees.

Directly out the front door there are a couple of parking spots for small or electric vehicles. All other vehicles were given a parking pass and parked directly across the street at Midtown Brewery Company. While the parking was convenient, be aware that you will have to carry your luggage across the street to the hotel. This could mean making more than one trip if you have a lot of luggage.

First Impressions

The outside of the Newsroom Suites is cheerful and has limited parking and 2 comfortable sitting areas on a porch in the front

Located right on Wellington’s Main Street, Newsroom Suites couldn’t be more convenient. I loved being able to park the car and simply explore the village on foot. Restaurants, cafés, boutique shops, and the waterfront were all just a short stroll away, making it easy to enjoy everything Wellington has to offer without constantly driving around.

From the outside, the building blends beautifully into the charming streetscape, but stepping inside reveals bright, modern suites that are thoughtfully designed with comfort in mind.

My Suite

One of the first things I noticed was how spacious the suite felt. Instead of a standard hotel room, it was more like a stylish apartment. The king-sized bed was incredibly comfortable, and after a full day of exploring Prince Edward County, it was exactly what I needed.

The suite also featured a cozy sitting area, a well-equipped kitchenette, and a beautiful bathroom with upscale finishes. Having a kitchenette, I meant that I was able to enjoy coffee before heading out to explore wineries and local attractions.

Everything was spotless, beautifully decorated, and filled with natural light. It’s clear that every detail has been carefully considered to make guests feel at home.

My suite didn’t have a patio, but the porch at the entrance had a cozy sitting area where you can relax with a glass of wine and do some people watching.

The Perfect Location for Exploring Prince Edward County

One of my favourite things about staying at the Newsroom Suites was its location. In my opinion Wellington is one of the best spots to stay in Prince Edward County because it offers a quieter atmosphere than some of the busier areas and is closest to the best wineries in The County.

The hotel itself was literally right in the middle of Wellington, with two restaurants and a coffee shop directly across the street, and another coffee shop a block away. This meant that I didn’t have to drive anywhere once I got to the hotel.

What I Loved Most

There were so many little touches that stood out to me. The suite was private and quiet, which made it easier to completely relax. The modern design was warm, cozy, and inviting, which made it feel much more like home than a typical hotel room would have.

I also appreciated how walkable everything was. In the evening, I simply had to cross the street for dinner, and I could easily the sunset along the waterfront without ever needing the car.

I would happily recommend the Newsroom Suites to anyone, but it’s especially suited to visitors who are:

  • Couples looking for a romantic Prince Edward County getaway
  • Wine lovers exploring local vineyards
  • Weekend travellers wanting a central location
  • Visitors looking for boutique accommodations instead of a traditional hotel
